Eric Buonanotte lives in Atlanta, Georgia. He started water skiing when he was four years old, skateboarding when he was five, snow skiing at six, snowboarding at seven, wakeboarding at ten, and wakeskating at thirteen. Eric became involved with competitive wakeboarding in 2004 and won numerous local and regional tournaments leading up to his becoming sponsored by CWB in 2005. He started competing in wakeskate events in 2005 and was quickly sponsored by Distortion. After winning several local and regional wakeskate competitions, he qualified for the 2006 Pro Tour – Pro Wakeskate Division. Eric rides mostly at his family's lake house on Lake Lanier (in Georgia). He rides wakeboard behind a Mastercraft X-2 and wakeskate behind a Wakeboard Edition Sea-Doo. He also enjoys riding cable over the kickers and sliders at Orlando Watersports Complex where he trains with Mike Ferraro during the winter months. Whenever possible, Eric really likes to ride the rails at Gravity Research Compound (in Eastman, Georgia) where he was the first to do a 270 shove off of both the ride wall and the uprail. In April of 2006, Eric was invited to become a Team Rider for Gravity Research Compound. Eric attends Pace Academy in Atlanta and is a pitcher for Pace's varsity baseball team. He enjoys throwing pots on the pottery wheel in his ceramics class at Pace. In the summer, Eric is a wakeboard instructor at a local water ski camp (when he's not traveling for the Pro Tour or other major events like the WWA Nationals, the WWA Worlds, and the WWA Pan-Am Games). In the winter, he enjoys skateboarding at indoor skateparks and snowboarding in Montana or Colorado (especially the extreme park at Beaver Creek). Eric loves all kinds of music and likes going to concerts and parties with his friends. He likes to dance (and is pretty good at it). He also enjoys golf, fishing, camping, quail hunting, air hockey, ping pong, video games, and watching Family Guy, South Park, and The Simpsons. Eric bungee jumped 330 feet straight down off of the Zambezi Bridge in Africa when he was 12. He began riding motocross motorcycles when he was 13. And, he went hang gliding and paragliding in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil when he was 14. He has been on expeditions to Antarctica and the Galapagos Islands. He has been on safaris throughout Africa. Eric has been hot air ballooning high in the sky and spelunking in caves deep below the ground. He rode zip lines through the jungles of Costa Rica, visited native tribes in Panama, danced with Maasai warriors in Tanzania, and met Fidel Castro in Cuba. Eric has been to the equator in Ecuador, to Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa, and to Machu Picchu in Peru. He has traveled quite a bit and done much; but, he's not done yet! Eric is at the beginning of many great things to come. Life is a ride and Eric is on board! |
